About Me

Hi, my name is John, I am a small to medium business web designer in Atlanta, Ga. striving to create just the right website for each client. I can help you have the website that will not only look great, but meet the needs of both you and your target audience. I’ve been designing great things for over 17 years, and my clients know they can trust me for quality work and excellent support. Your goals are important to me, and I work with you to create the perfect design for every need.

Some Frequently Asked Questions

Clearly this is my most common question. I know you just want a dollar amount. But, I need to know several things: How many pages do you need? What is the website going to do (sell products, just inform visitors, showcase your talent, etc)? Do you already have a website? Will you want the ability to update it yourself? These are the kind of things that I’ll need to know in order to give you an accurate estimate.

I promise, I’m not trying to hide anything. Just give me that information and I promise I’ll draw up a fair estimate for you.

None. I’m not a company that will hound you for money that wasn’t clearly spelled out from the start. There are no hidden costs to my websites. You get a product, you pay for it, done. After the site is built you can either maintain it yourself or have me do it for a fee. End of story.

Yep. Mobile friendly websites are a must nowadays. My websites are Google compliant for their most stringent mobile rules. Your site will be built to look perfect, no matter what the size or shape of the screen it will be viewed on

This varies a lot, depending on the size of the site you need. A simple one-page information site can be done in a day or 2. A 40-page E-Commerce site may take a month or longer. I’ll give you a very detailed estimate of time, however, when I consult with you about your project.
One thing I’ll make clear: As long as you provide me the materials to build, I will not take a long time. I put it in writing!

A website is just an engineered design of something. “Hosting” is how the site will be seen by people. Think of a “hosting service” as a big radio station that basically broadcasts your website to the masses. You need hosting. You can either obtain it on your own or go through me, but you do need it.

All new websites I design will come with 1 year of free hosting!

Absolutely not. If you’re happy with your hosting service, I’ll build the site on their platform.

You do.

When you hire me, you’re hiring me as a “vendor” or outside “contractor.” I build your site and help maintain it, but the website design, code, structure and content is your property. Make sure you get this in writing from any web designer or programmer you talk to!

It’s your choice: If you would like to update your website yourself, you will want to look into my “Content Management System” Package, which includes a platform for you to update your site.

If you don’t want to bother dealing with the maintenance of your site, I offer two maintenance plans – retainer and a la carte. A “retainer” is a monthly fee for unlimted updates. An “a la carte” plans is like a pay-as-you go thing, where you order an update, I perform it and then bill you quarterly for time served.

If you have images you need/want to use on your site, great. If not, no big deal. I can take product or content photos for you. Or, I can always use stock photography, if appropriate.

Please be advised, I always adhere to Internet law and protocols when using licensed or copyrighted images.

I always provide my clients with access to site analytics, meaning you can see everything there is to see about who is visiting your site on a daily, hourly, even minute-by-minute basis.

All my websites are created with search engines in mind and the website design is compliant with search engine guidelines. It is a good idea for your website to be re-evaluated periodically, as over a period of time the search engines do alter their rules and algorithms, and you will want to be certain that your website is kept up to date and complies with those new rules.

It should be noted that there is no “magic bullet” to ensure you rank #1 on Google. I flood your site with Search Engine Optimization, but ultimately, it’s outside marketing, social media, consistency and website strength that drives traffic.

How it Works

  • CONSULTATION
We meet (either in person or on the phone) and come up with a good game plan based on your specific needs. There are no templates or magic formulas here. We fit the project to you.
  • WORK AGREEMENT
We put everything in writing. Once you’re happy with the work agreement, sign it and we put the ball in motion. I do require a 3rd deposit to begin production, 50% for any site that includes an eCommerce platform.
  • DOMAIN NAME AND HOSTING
If you don’t have a “domain name” I’ll help you secure one. This is the address that visitors will type in to find you. I also set up hosting if you don’t already have it, so that I can build the site on the right foundation.
  • DESIGN MOCKUPS
I start the design process by drawing rough draft “mockups”. These are just design concepts to get a feel for the design direction – the look and texture – of the site. This process will require several proofing passes with you.
  • ENGINEERING (BUILDING THE SITE)
“Engineering” is the process that brings a site to life. It’s when I take the design and make it an actual website.
  • SITE TESTING
Once engineering is complete, I start testing the site. I’ll let you play with it, kick the tires and approve the overall functionality of the project.
  • LAUNCH OF SITE
The most exciting step, as the website is launched. I promote and submit the site to search engines, make it live on the Internet and off you go.
  • MAINTENANCE AND UPDATES
Like any good working machine, websites need maintenance. If you have an editing platform package installed then have at it. If you signed up for a maintenance plan, then I enter into that phase, where I’ll update your website with necessary content as needed.
Are you ready to take it to the next level?
